Privacy Policy

How Talewick handles parent accounts, child profile settings, stories, purchases and device security data.

Effective 24 September 2026

Talewick is a parent-facing app for creating and reading personalised children’s stories. The parent or guardian operates the app and controls the information used to make each story.

Information Talewick processes

How the information is used

Talewick uses this information only to provide the app: create age-appropriate stories and illustrations, keep a private library, restore signed-in family settings, verify subscriptions, provide the free trial, prevent fraud, troubleshoot failures and protect the service. Talewick does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Story generation and service providers

Story choices, including a child’s display name and familiar words when supplied, are sent securely to OpenAI to generate and safety-check story text and illustrations. They are not sent with Apple sign-in credentials or payment details. Google Cloud hosts Talewick’s API, database and private illustration storage. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, DeviceCheck and App Attest. These providers process information on Talewick’s behalf or under their own terms as needed to deliver those services.

Retention and deletion

Saved stories and signed-in family settings remain until the parent deletes a story or account. The child’s display name and familiar words held for a generation job are cleared after that generation reaches a final state. Selecting Settings → Privacy → Delete account removes the account, stories, illustrations, family settings and active sessions. Limited purchase records or a one-way device trial marker may be retained where needed for accounting, security, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

Children’s privacy

Talewick is designed for parents and guardians, not for children to operate independently. It does not provide public profiles, messaging, social sharing or behavioural advertising. Parents should enter only the limited information they are comfortable using to personalise a story.

Your choices

Parents can use the three-story trial without signing in, edit or remove profiles, delete individual stories, manage narration preferences, sign out, and delete the Talewick account from inside the app. App Store subscriptions can be managed in Apple’s subscription settings.

Privacy requests: open Talewick and go to Settings → Privacy. Account deletion is available there without contacting support.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and the app or product page will provide appropriate notice.
